What a weekend to remember !!

The past weekend will go a long way down my memory lane. A weekend with India winning the cricket world cup - you couldnt have asked for me. This must have been a very thrilling moment for most of the Indians all over the world. I didnt watch the Srilankan batting, but managed to wake up for the Indian innings. We had cousins coming to our place and we all watched it. But as soon as we sat and started watching India lost 2 crucial wickets. That was enough for me to get up and not watch it. I didnt want to jinx an Indian victory by watching this match any further. After that it was just following the score card. Did sneak a peek once in a while.

But more than anything this world cup will be remembered for quite a long time. I dont know anything about our last win in '83, as I was just a toddler and wouldnt have been able to enjoy or even get a hang of it. But this victory was sweeter. With family members around the fun only got doubled

In the evening we went to the Berkeley university. You really get this feeling, you ought to study in such colleges to feel the magic. I felt it by just seeing it from outside.  We also went on top of the clock tower which gives you a 360 degree view of the entire bay area. The view was definitely breath taking.  There is also a set of huge bells which go off every top of the hour and also music plays three times a day - 6am, 12pm and 6pm. Unfortunately we couldn't stay to listen to the music.  After a heavy dinner at home, we all retired to watch tamil movies on DVD. Watched Payanam (a very good movie) and slept half way through to "Then Merku Paruva Kaattru". Saturday ended that way

Can you spot the ocean and golden gate bridge in the distance?

Sunday we mostly took it easy. Went out for brunch and then a long drive.

After a relaxed afternoon we ended the day with dinner at Saravana Bhawan.
It was a very welcome break for us and we enjoyed every bit of it. It couldn't be any better
