Rajma(Kidney Beans)

Ingredients:

Kidney Beans (the brown ones and not the maroon ones) - 1 cup
Onion -1/2
Tomato - 1/2
Tomato Puree - 2 to 3 tbsps
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Corriander leaves
Garam masala - 1 tsp or as per your taste for spicyness
Kitchen king masala - 1tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 2tbsps
Jeera-1tsp (crush them)

Preparation:

1. Soak the kidney beans over night and pressure cook them the next day. A better alternative could also be getting canned beans. But I always prefer the fresh ones available at the Indian stores. Make sure you get the one that are brown in color(or rather reddish brown). The maroon ones dont come out that softer
2. Pressure cook the soaked beans in the pressure cooker for 8 to 9 whistles
3. Finely chop the onions and tomatoes. Fresh tomatoes are mainly to give the sour taste.
4. Heat the oil in a frying pan and after oil gets heated up add the ginger garlic paste.
5. Next add the onions and saute them
6. After frying the onions add the tomatoes and saute them till the raw smell is gone.
7. Now add the tomato puree and saute them for atleast 5 mins or until the raw smell is gone.
8. Now add salt, garam masala and kitchen king masala. Mix them all together and heat it for 3-5 mins.
9. Now add the cooked kidney beans to this mixture and add some water and let the whole mixture boil on low flame for atleast 15 mins.
10. Garnish it with corriander leaves and powdered Jeera. Adds good aroma and taste to the rajma.

So yummy Rajma is ready!!! Best combo when served with Chapathi/Rotis/Jeera Rice
