We rented n watched this movie over the weekend and liked every moment of it. Sandra Bullock totally justifies her Oscar. She deserved every bit of it. The story is about an African American kid coping up in a white society and how a white family becomes his legal guardian and support him through high school. He is not a stupid boy, just that he has never had help with his studies and has always been in foster homes. No one to care or to love. In a way I really feel bad about kids like him in this country. What a sea of difference it makes in a kid's life when his/her parents are not responsible or even good enough to provide a stable living to the child. I only pray to God that neither me or my husband are never in such a situation.
At times I feel, we as individuals are so good at criticizing people or their views and or even mock them, how many of us have the heart like this white lady to adopt a child like him and struggle equally hard to bring up this child, when she is a very wealthy person having 2 of her own kids. We could always say, "oh yeah she is wealthy and if not those people do such act, who else can" But how many wealthy that we know are ready to such acts. I think this movie is based on a true story. Totally worth the buck, do definitely watch if you all find time.

Do watch the movie and let me know if you liked it. I checked out your photos on FB and looks like you had managed to cover the US from the west to the east. New York is still on our to do list. Will surely ask for your tips when we go. Am so glad you enjoyed your US tour so well
